Sometimes new isn't necessarily better. Today a customer brought out his Meger to test a motor, "...it was here when Frank started and he's been here 50 years!" - was the comment from the customer.
Props to old technology, it still worked perfectly and if looked after will still be working in 50 years time, it has no batteries and no complex electronic components to fail, they really don't make 'em like they used to!
