It has been a busy post holiday return to work with lots of slightly older machines struggling to function after a few weeks off! This is always the case over Christmas and New Year.
This Hardinge VMC1000ii with Sinumerik drives and 810D control unfortunately suffered from a blown 50A drive. This is a common failure on CCU boxes, it always seems to be the 50A (spindle) port that blows.
At Control CNC we keep a rolling stock of this particular part, but after fitting the replacement CCU box, we also discovered the 16/21 kw E/R module had also blown.
Not to let us off too easy with diagnosing the problem on this machine we also found that the MMC103 backup battery had failed.
We have a good stock of all of these parts - among many other standard machine parts, so we were able to diagnose, supply and fit all of this hardware in 1 visit. Our customer’s machine was back in production in a minimal timeframe.
We are Siemens specialists and keep a large stock of hardware and are also invested in repairing Siemens hardware where we can, please contact us for further details.
